    This ride is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who want to see Song-Kul Lake on horseback. Starting from Kyzart village, this journey takes you across scenic gorges, over high-altitude mountain passes up to 3,400 meters, and into the heart of the mountains. It is a simple, peaceful, and active trip that lets you leave the modern world behind and experience authentic mountain life.

    Itinerary

    Day 1Kyzart Village — Bazar-Turuk Gorge — Kilemche Jailoo

    Meet at 12:00 PM in Kyzart village for a warm welcome and a hearty lunch at a local
    guesthouse. After lunch, you will meet your local guide, get matched with your horses,
    and pack the support horses with your gear.

    The expedition begins with a relatively gentle ride along the scenic Bazar-Turuk Gorge.
    You will move through lush green pastures and rolling hills toward the Kilemche jailoo.
    In the afternoon, arrive at a cozy yurt camp nestled in the valley for a home-cooked
    dinner and your first night under the stars.

    • Accommodation: Yurt Camp (Multi-share basis, 4–5 people per yurt)
    • Horseback riding: 15 km / approx. 4 hours
    • Note: This is a fully off-grid area. There is no electricity or phone signal; bathroom facilities are shared and located outdoors (no showers).

    Day 2Kilemche Jailoo — Tuz-Ashuu Pass — Song-Kul Lake

    After breakfast, we begin the ascent toward the Tuz-Ashuu Pass (3,400 m). From the top of the pass, you’ll see a panoramic view of the entire Song-Kul valley and the lake below.

    After taking some photos, we descend from the pass to the lakeshore, where our yurt camp is located. We arrive at the camp in time for lunch. The afternoon is free, so you can explore the shore, walk around the area, or just relax by the water.

    Accommodation: Yurt Camp (Multi-share basis, outdoor facilities)
    Horseback riding: 15 km / approx. 4–5 hours
    Note: Song-Kul is a high-altitude area (3,016 m). Even in summer, it can be very windy and temperatures drop significantly at night. Warm layers are essential.

    Day 3Song-Kul Lake — Kara-Kiya Pass — Kyzart Village

    After a hearty breakfast, mount your horses for the final ride back toward the civilization. To keep the adventure exciting, the route takes a different path, crossing the spectacular KaraKiya Pass (3,360 m), which offers stunning new views of the surrounding mountain ranges during the descent.

    Arrive back in Kyzart village by lunchtime (around 13:00–14:00) for a farewell meal with your hosts, where your horse trek officially concludes.

    • Horseback riding: 15 km / approx. 4–5 hours

    IMPORTANT TOUR NOTES:

    • Luggage: Your main bags will be carried by pack horses. You must pack your gear in a soft duffel bag or a trekking backpack (hard suitcases are not allowed). Extra luggage can be safely left behind at the guesthouse in Kyzart village.
    • Riding Level: No special training is required, making it suitable for active beginners, but you must be in good physical shape and comfortable spending 4–5 hours a day in the saddle.
    • Service Level: This is a budget-friendly, authentic eco-tour. All services are provided by local families. Your horse guide is highly experienced in mountain safety but speaks limited English.
    • Add-ons: The tour officially starts and ends in Kyzart. Optional transfers and accommodation in Bishkek or Kyzart can be arranged upon request prior to departure.
